  1. Tranexamic Acid, Tamponade, and Thromboprophylaxis: new considerations for postpartum hemorrhage in 2018.
    The WOMAN trial has increased awareness and use of tranexamic acid, but what is the evidence? This and other evolving topics in postpartum hemorrhage including intrauterine balloon tamponade and thromboprophylaxis are discussed and the evidence weighed.

  2. Trauma in Pregnancy
    Trauma occurs with increased frequency in pregnancy and the evaluation is multi-disciplinary. This interactive grand rounds highlights special considerations for maternal physiology in the evaluation and management of trauma patients while reviewing the evidence behind the “standard” evaluation and management.

  4. Teaching Millennials: Using Technology to Support Education
    Technology is and will forever be an integral part of education and presentations.   Understanding the role of technology and which technology to best lever for an individual learning need is critical. This session will present practical guidelines for best practices in multimedia design, video modules, flipped classroom and simulation as well as showcase some examples of projects and applications.

  6. Whither the Pelvic Exam: A Debate.
    In response to the American College of Physicians’ recommendation against bimanual exams at the time of an annual preventative care visit, Dr. Eve Espey and I debated the merits and pitfalls of this approach.

  7. Novo Sub Sole: Updates in Cervical Cancer Screening and Management.
    Cervical cancer screening and dysplasia management has undergone more changes in the last three years than any other aspect of outpatient gynecologic care. This 45-minute lecture reviews the recent changes and rationales for them including cervical cancer screening guidelins, the new ASCCP CIN 3 risk-based stratification, as well as the rise of primary high-risk HPV testing.

  8. Operative Vaginal Delivery: Quo Vadis?
    With the renewed focus of the WHO, HHS, ACOG, and SMFM on reducing the number of cesarean deliveries, the need for providers skilled in operative vaginal delivery has never been greater. This 50-minute lecture reviews the current state, indications, and risks and benefits of operative vaginal delivery.
